SAGA TRAVEL – Diamond Anniversary


Warm congratulations to Saga Travel who are celebrating their 60th anniversary this month.

In 1951  Sidney de Haan founded a travel company in Folkstone, Kent called the Old People’s Travel Bureau, which he originally operated from a hotel bedroom .It offered affordable off-peak holidays exclusively to retired people. These first hotel packages cost £6.10s including full board, return travel and day trips to France.
Saga has now expanded into a company serving almost 3 million customers with a range of services that include holidays and cruises, insurance and financial services as well as publishing the UK’s biggest subscription magazine –  Saga Magazine.
