Bounty … the Taste of Paradise … 1951

The Bounty Hunters are here … they’re searching for Paradise.

The  delicious Bounty chocolate bar was introduced by Mars in … 1951.
It has a coconut filling enrobed with milk chocolate  (sold in a blue wrapper) or plain chocolate (sold in a red wrapper) and is one of the few chocolates to come wrapped in two individual halves.

Bounty bars have also been sold in limited edition cherry and mango flavours in several countries but not in the United Kingdom.

Advertising has tended to  feature tropical beaches with coconut palms.

Finally … there is another rather more tenuous link between Bounty and 1951 …  so  I do hope you’ll forgive me for bringing it up! ( The link I mean … not the Bounty!)
There is a very famous novel called Mutiny on the Bounty (1932) which has indeed been the inspiration for several films of the same name. The co-author of this novel was James Norman Hall and he died in … 1951.
