Douglas A-26 Invader

The Douglas A-26 Invader ( B-26 between 1948-1965 ) was a United States twin-engined light attack bomber used extensively during World War 11, the Korean War and on into the Cold War.

The aircraft pictured above is a U.S. Air Force Douglas B-26B-51-DL Invader of the 8th Bomb Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group, over North Korea circa February 1951. This self same aircraft was shot down by enemy flak 5 miles north-west of Seoul on 17th February 1951 with the loss of its crew of 3.
