I was on Yahoo yesterday where I was reading an article about this lovely lady called Louise Mensch who just happens to be an English Conserative Party MP and an author of chic lit fiction.
So I Googled her. Here she is pictured left and looking absolutely angelic I think you’ll agree. She has recently been the unfortunate victim of a particularly nasty creature called an Internet Troll via the social media site Twitter.
There is a 1951 connection … but you’ll have to wait to find out what it is.
Until yesterday I didn’t have a clue as to exactly what sort of a creature an Internet Troll is, so I did a little research.
An Internet Troll is one who posts offensive, controversial or devisive material on an online community such as a discussion forum, chatroom or blog. The primary intent is to provoke readers into some form of emotional response. In extreme forms the posts may contain direct threats to certain persons which may well cause fear and suffering.
Fortunately, in Louise Mensch’s case the Internet Troll was both located and arrested and given a six-month jail sentence, suspended for two years.
And the 1951 connection? Well … the troll in question was born in 1951. Needless to say, he won’t be invited into membership.
I guess we will always always see the forces for good and evil battling it out on the Internet. It was inevitable.
