Lonesome George, the last remaining tortoise of his kind, died yesterday of unknown natural causes. A Galapagos Tortoise, he was the only surviving member of his subspecies. This sad event marks the total extinction of his subspecies. He was believed to be over 100 years old, and weighed 200 lbs.
