There are Elephants in the Room … # 3
It’s Wednesday and Day 3 of my quest to seek a cure for my condition … 1951 Elephant Fixation. No ship of hope on the horizon yet folks. But I live in hope. So …
I was brought up in North London. This picture was taken in High Road, Whetstone which was just along the road from my house. It was taken in 1951 and shows some elephants from Bobby Roberts Circus as it came to town. You can see a branch of Woolworths on the other side of the road. Just a moment in time.

A super photo! And two elephants! Gosh, I miss Woolies. No one did a pick & mix quite like Woolies *sigh*
And they also sold broken biscuits … cheap and cheerful.
*wipes away a tear* the high street will never be the same again.
I remember the fascination as a child when the circus came to town. I loved the animals and this was before the big zoos were built in Sweden

That must have been such a sensation at that time!
