The 1951 Rolling Review Show … # 90
Welcome to the 1951 Rolling Review Show which twice weekly features pieces of music I have enjoyed at some time in my life. I hope you enjoy them as well. Let me know if you do.
Living in the Past – Jethro Tull
“Living in the Past” is a song by British progressive rock group Jethro Tull. It was released as a single in April 1969 and reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
I remember the name of the group but can’t say that I listened that much to their music
Hi there. They were folk-rock so not to everybody’s taste.
I liked some of their music but not all. Thanks for dropping by.
Have their greatest hits cd. Listen frequently.
Excellent. Do you like Family as well ?
Back To The Family? Had not listened to that one for a while. Listening now. The ones I tend to play most: Minstrel In The Gallery, Aqualung, Locomotive Breath, Living In The Past.
Sorry to confuse you …. Family were another group recording at the same time. Wrote in a similar style. Had a big hit with The Weaver’s Answer.
No, I did not listen to them. Well, at least that I can remember. Found a few versions of “The Weaver’s Answer” and some others on YouTube, nice. A very unique sound. Thanks for the tip!
Have never heard of them…. a shame!
Jethro Tull! An integral part of my music scene of long ago. Loved that band for their contemporary folk/rock mix. Such memories… and they may well still be going!
Mine too. I think they split up a few years ago but reform from time to time.
They had quite a unique “flavor” by incorporating the flute. 🙂
