The 1951 Rolling Review Show … # 126
Welcome to the 1951 Rolling Review Show which twice weekly features pieces of music I have enjoyed at some time in my life. I hope you enjoy them as well. Let me know if you do.
“Bright Eyes” – Art Garfunkel
“Bright Eyes” is a song written by Mike Batt and performed by Art Garfunkel. It was used in the soundtrack of the 1978 British animated adventure drama film Watership Down. It was the biggest selling single of 1979 in the UK.
A very warm 1951 club welcome to Dominique Dropsy. Born in December 1951, Dominique is a former French footballer who played goalkeeper. He earned 17 international caps for the French national team during the late 1970s and early 1980s. A player of RC Strasbourg (1973-1984), he was a member of the French team in the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
His surname Dropsy has almost inevitably caused much amusement given his position as a goalkeeper but he has had an enormously successful career. He has since 1989 been a goalkeeping coach for FC Girondins Bordeaux.
