Wimbledon … finally

Congratulations to Andy Murray on becoming the first British man to play a Wimbledon final in 74 years. The last man to achieve this was Bunny Austin way back in 1938. The whole nation waits to see if the 25- year old Scot can be its first champion since Fred Perry in 1936. Good luck Andy.

The 1951 Wimbledon Championships took place on the outdoor grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon from 25 June to 6 July.
American Dick Savitt defeated Australian Ken McGregor 6-4, 6-4, 6-4  in the Men’s Singles Final. And in the Women’s Singles Final, American Doris Hart defeated fellow American Shirley Fry Irvin 6-1, 6-0.
